I am an experienced film and TV freelance film and TV director of photography and work on dramas, factual entertainment, documentaries, and music and current affairs films.  I have more than 20 years wide-ranging experience of filming dramas, news features, current affairs and documentaries in 48 countries ranging from Ghana to Greenland, and have shot comprehensively throughout the UK.

I have my own professional HD broadcast video cameras and lenses, plus other ancillary equipment and lights. I am proficient in all current camera formats, and shoot on all High Definition systems. I have a full driving licence, and a custom-made fully equipped crew vehicle.

.

After studying photography I began work as a photographer. I covered politics, music and fashion for a number of publications and had my photographs published nationally and internationally in publications ranging from The Times of London, through to Newsweek. Later on I went back to college and studied cinematography part time at the National Film School.

From there I worked my way up from camera assistant through the camera grades, by assisting a number of distinguished and outstanding cinematographers on projects ranging from 35mm drama and commercials through to cutting edge lifestyle documentaries. Along the way I shot many 16mm film pop promos including ‘Keep on Movin’”, for Soul II Soul and idiosyncratic documentaries like “Le Bohemian Noir” which featured the early 90’s club scene.

Since then I have worked on many highly acclaimed and successful productions such as “Who Do You Think You Are? (Moira Stuart)” which won Best Popular Factual Entertainment Programme, at the Broadcast Awards in 2006 and the Indie Award for Best Historical Documentary of 2005, and the epic “UK Music Hall of Fame series” which was nominated for a BAFTA Award. More recently I shot “Election” for Diverse Productions, which won the Children's BAFTA Entertainment Award in 2009. My regular clients include the BBC, Discovery, Channel 4 and high-end corporate companies including The Proudfoot Company (Rolex  & The London Cultural Olympiad).
